"Locals' Summer"
Size: 8 × 10" limited edition print, hand embellished with colored pencil
This limited edition 8 × 10" giclée print is from Locals' Summer, my thank-you to the city that raised me as an artist and a love letter to the San Diego coast in its most enchanting season. Every print is hand embellished with colored pencil, so fine linework and touches of color are added by me to areas of focus. Every San Diegan knows there's a fifth season: the water is still warm, the sun sits lower and softer, and for a few weeks the coast feels like it opens just for us. Working from film photographs, I use the fade and softness of the medium to carry the feeling of memory: sun-bleached color, blurred edges, the beach as I knew it as a kid. Locals' Summer is on view at Liberty Station Command Center through November.
Edition of 25, signed and numbered by the artist. Printed with a half inch border for easy framing.
Ships or delivers the first week of November
